Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Lairy Labs ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and stores information when you use Echo. By using Echo, you agree to the practices described here.

1. What We Collect

When you use Echo, we collect:

• Account information — your email address, used to create and manage your account.
• Voice recordings — audio files you submit when creating a voice profile. These are used solely to generate synthesised speech in your voice.
• Text input — phrases and text you type into the app for synthesis. This is processed transiently and not retained beyond what is needed to produce audio.
• Usage data — basic logs (request timestamps, error rates) used to operate and improve the service. We do not track in-app behaviour beyond what is necessary.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide Echo's core features: voice profile creation, speech synthesis, and phrase management.
• To authenticate you and maintain your account.
• To improve reliability and diagnose issues.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your voice recordings or text for any purpose other than providing the service to you.

3. Voice Data and AAC Use

Echo is designed for people who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). We treat voice data as sensitive. Voice samples are:

• Stored securely and associated only with your account.
• Used exclusively to synthesise speech for you within the app.
• Deleted immediately when you delete the associated voice profile.

4. Third-Party Services

Echo relies on the following third-party infrastructure:

• Supabase — authentication and database storage. Your email and phrase metadata are stored here. Supabase Privacy Policy.
• Modal.com — serverless GPU infrastructure used to process voice recordings and generate synthesised audio. Audio is transmitted to Modal only for synthesis and is not retained by Modal beyond the processing request. Modal Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete your voice profiles at any time from within the app, which permanently removes your voice sample and all associated audio files. You can delete your entire account and all associated data from Settings → Account → Delete All Data.

We do not retain your data after deletion.

6. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit and access controls on stored data. No system is completely secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

7. Children

Echo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes. Continued use of Echo after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
